In summary, I'm looking for a mouthpiece that I can control, the low notes come out easily, and that can project enough to anchor a big band sax section, without taking so much air as to make me pass out. I have a friend who playes a Berg Larson so I went to WWBW and there were so many variations on tip openings and chambers I didn't know where to start. Neck has a mouthpiece extension to improve the sound of the low notes specifically designed for the Couf mouthpiece.

Couf Artist 8 Mouthpiece with cap, Flight Case plus Reunion Blues Gig Bag, & Bari Sax Stand. The Brilhart sounds okay, but it takes so much air to keep up with this very loud band that I literally have to take a breath every measure. JK Keilwerth Eb Baritone Sax, Low A w adjustable palm keys. The Couf has nice volume, but it is hard to control and I'm scared to play it in a rehearsal. So I could have one for the first rehearsal I ran to a local music store and bought a couple random mouthpieces. Maybe a Wagner blank It has a bullet chamber and is a fairly small chamber with straight side walls. Previous owner thought it is a Couf mouthpiece, but there are no markings. The school has provided a nice Mark VI bari, but I have to have my own mouthpiece. This is a Vintage Hard Rubber Baritone Saxophone Mouthpiece.

First my H Couf Superba II Bari sax from the 60s with a 64XXX serial number: The horn is well built, from the bell brace to the German Brass it is made from, it is a very sturdy and. Now I own one horn from 60s, 70s, and the 80s, all have their perks and disadvantages. However, this semester I was put on bari in one of the jazz bands here. Now ill share my review of the horn in my personal, amateur, opinion. Pretty free blowing with a wonderfully solid bottom end. My main instrument is alto and I play on a Meyer 6M for that horn and like the focus and projection I get. This beauty of a horn was most probably a special order, since the low As were not a commercially produced like the low Bb at the time.The pads are in excellent condition and probably wont need an overhaul for quite some time.
